Our Candidate
Ian Diamondstone: Vermont Leadership
My family moved to Brattleboro, Vermont, when I was 3; 58 years ago. My parents immediately began getting involved in Vermont politics. My mother ran for congress in the early ’70’s on a single issue; Women’s Liberation. My father was a perennial candidate for more than 40 years and started his political career alongside Bernie Sanders.
I attended Castleton State College for 2 years before finishing my Liberal Arts Degree in Spanish from UVM in 1986. I attended a few summer classes at VT Law School and took night classes with The Upper Valley Community College before earning my MBA at Franklin Pierce College.
I’ve had a few careers working in cottage industries here in Vermont and finally have run my own international organic spice company the last 15 years. I raised 3 children, as a single parent, for most of 25 years and had to work 2 or 3 jobs most of that time in order to survive. My roots run deep in Southeastern Vermont as I raised my family for 20 years in Brattleboro before moving to Putney (East Putney) 10 years ago.
